Privacy policy
Last updated October 30, 2026
WatchMyMedia is made by Eldwick Software LLC ("we"). This policy covers the WatchMyMedia apps for Android, Google TV, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and the Mac, the WatchMyMedia server software, and this website.
The short version
WatchMyMedia is software you run yourself. Your library, your account, what you watch and your settings live on your own server. We don't run a service that receives any of it, and the apps send us nothing.
What the apps keep and where they send it
The apps talk only to the WatchMyMedia server you choose.
- On your device: the apps keep the addresses of servers you've used, a sign-in token for each, a random identifier for the device, the device name you choose, and your playback preferences.
- Sent to your server: your username and password when you sign in; the device's name, model and app version, which appear in your server's list of signed-in devices; what you play and how far you got, so you can resume and see what's next; and preferences such as when to skip intros. The people who run your server can see this.
- On your local network: the apps look for servers with multicast DNS (Bonjour). Those messages don't leave your network.
What we receive
Nothing about you, your library or what you watch. The apps contain no analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reporting or tracking code, and we have no access to your server or its data. Update checks, described under The server, send only a version number.
Google Play and the App Store work under their own privacy policies. If you have turned on sharing of usage and diagnostics with app developers in your device's settings, Google or Apple may give us crash reports and performance figures that don't identify you.
The server
The server keeps your library's details, its user accounts and their watch history in a database on the computer you run it on. To find artwork and descriptions for your titles, it looks them up with The Movie Database (TMDB), sending titles and years but nothing about you. Your server's administrator controls all of this.
When an administrator presses Check for updates in the server's settings, the server downloads the list of releases from downloads.watchmy.media, sending its version and nothing else. The Mac app checks the same site for new versions when its automatic update checks are on. Cloudflare handles these requests as it does for this website.
This website
watchmy.media sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which handles each request, including your network address and browser details, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
Children
The apps are not directed at children under 13. We don't collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Deleting your data
Your data is on your server, so you and the people who run it can delete it there.
- Signing out in an app removes its sign-in token from the device.
- Settings → Signed-in devices signs out any device remotely.
- Your server's administrator can delete your account and its watch history.
- Uninstalling an app removes everything it stored on the device.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
